New York Spring 2012 Scrapbook: Antonio Azzuolo

Antonio Azzuolo Spring 2012 Preview
9 Sep 2011

In his 8th season of menswear line a.a., designer Antonio Azzuolo, the finalist of this year's CFDA/ Vogue Fashion Fund, beautifully executed a showcase of how real men dress today: "A duality between the very tailored, sartorial look and the street." To complete the dressed-up yet rebellious look, models are styled with subtly messy out-of-bed hair, looking handsome in the morning sunlight, no?

Money, a great new track from The Drums' new album Portamento. Such a great escape listening to this on Monday morning.

Fall keyword you need to know: SNOOD

I started to furnish my fall wardrobe in late August, with soft cashmere cardigans, long sleeve cotton tees and silk shirts. I know it's all too early to try on the clothes in hot weather like this now in Hong Kong, but…let's jut call it my plan, my STRATEGY to BEAT the cool cool weather, and it's coming sooner or later anyway.

Today, I am looking at the Topman accessories collection and I have decided, yes, I would definitely get these two cozy snoods for myself.

Top: Blue cotton pattern popper snood
Bottom: Red cotton burgundy gauze snood

What to listen this Sunday morning?

A soft, dreamy track "Echoes" from the new album "Within and Without" by Washed Out.

The comeback of The Rapture! "It Takes Time To Be A Man", you gotta love this sophisticated piece from their new album "In The Grace of Your Love". Sure they've got matured a lot.

Little Dragon's latest release "Ritual Union" is an extraordinary fun and pleasurable listening experience. Dare to call it the best music this summer.

Monday's best dressed

Kevin is the best dressed gent of the day. Love his clean and half causal style, yet there's something sophisticated about him.

The surreal moment with Rico

Rico the Zombie Boy, with a Dali sculpture behind.

It was still early, around 8:30am. I caught Rico outside of the hotel smoking alone while I was on my way to work. I'm so glad to have photographed him in my conscious hour. I tried so hard to hold the little camera firm as my hand was shaking like crazy after taking my prescription. The image is so real, isn't it?

Video: Sonic Youth

It's probably the best Sonic Youth music video featuring Marc Jacobs and Chloe Sevigny. Back to the days when boys wanted to be girls and girls wanted to be boys.

HOMME: Designer in résidence - Alexander Wang

Text by interior design & home deco column HOMME contributor: Eric

Fashion designer Alexander Wang first collaborated with his decorator Ryan Korban during their years at college. Korban has never taken any formal education of interior design, so far, he has designed for Wang’s old apartment, showroom as well as his new store just opened months ago.
This time, Korban creates a really stylish space for Wang's new apartment in New York. We think Wang’s living space is just as sexy as his handbags! Let's take the tour!

The living room is divided into two areas: The first side features a palette of cool, black wooden floor with two big zebra rugs lying on it. The furnitures, mostly in black, forming a high contrast against the white walls.

On the other side, it’s a totally different space. Everything is soft: Couches and chairs are white in color, while the cabinet, the rug and the lightings add warmth to this cosy room.

Kitchen: Basically, it's an open kitchen with a small dining area -- a typical New York home living style.

The refrigerator mainly stores liquid refreshments.

First of all, this is the hottest dining room I've ever seen! It features a black crocodile dining chair and a chrome dining table - the legs of the table are formed in two "A"s.

Wang's bedroom has a big mirror beside his bed, so that he can check himself all the time (?!)
